Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, and minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Coordinate public records requests ensuring compliance with open records laws
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Prepare and certify legal documents including contracts, resolutions, and proclamations
- Facilitate city council meetings and public hearings
- Develop records management systems for long-term archival compliance
- Serve as primary liaison between citizens and municipal government
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years municipal government or records management experience
- Expertise in Louisiana Public Records Act and Sunshine Law
- Advanced proficiency in municipal software (e.g., DocuWare, Municode)
- Notary Public certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive/confidential information
