Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Oversee public record requests and ensure compliance with Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law
- Administer oaths of office and serve as the official notary for municipal documents
- Coordinate with City Council and mayoral offices for legislative documentation processes
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with state regulations
- Lead public-facing services including voter registration assistance and marriage license issuance
- Supervise clerical staff and maintain efficient workflow for all clerk functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Expert knowledge of Pennsylvania's Sunshine Act and Right-to-Know Law
- Advanced proficiency in municipal record-keeping systems and document management software
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with strict confidentiality
- Experience supervising administrative teams in government settings
