Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, ordinances, and minutes with archival precision
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with California Public Records Act
- Administer city elections and voter registration with integrity and transparency
- Provide expert legislative support to the City Council and Mayor's Office
- Develop and implement records management systems for long-term digital preservation
- Lead public-facing services including marriage licenses, business filings, and notary services
- Coordinate with city departments to maintain accurate legislative histories
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years municipal government experience with records management
- Deep expertise in California Public Records Act and election administration
- Proven leadership managing complex record-keeping systems
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
- Proficiency in municipal software systems (e.g., Legistar, Tyler)
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation highly desirable
