Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation, distribution, and archiving of official City Council and Board of Adjustments agendas, minutes, and records.
- Act as the primary point of contact for public inquiries regarding municipal codes, ordinances, and meeting schedules.
- Ensure strict compliance with the North Carolina Public Records Act (FOIA) and other applicable state and local regulations.
- Oversee the maintenance of the City’s official history, including resolutions, proclamations, and historical archives.
- Coordinate logistics for Council meetings, including room setup, audio-visual support, and visitor management.
- Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and statistical summaries for City leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Paralegal Studies, or Business preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal government, court administration, or a related administrative field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and record management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on accuracy and discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order or similar parliamentary procedure is highly desirable.

- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with parliamentary procedure (Robert’s Rules of Order) is a plus.
