Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal records management, including council minutes, ordinances, and public documents
- Administer oaths of office and manage official city seals and certifications
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Prepare agendas and maintain official records for City Council meetings
- Supervise elections and voter registration processes per Louisiana statutes
- Manage municipal licensing and permit documentation systems
- Serve as custodian of city archives and historical documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years municipal clerk or public records management experience
- Expert knowledge of Louisiana public records laws and municipal procedures
- Proficiency with document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Louisiana Notary Public commission or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to manage sensitive information with utmost discretion
