Responsibilities
- Serve as custodian of official city records, ordinances, and minutes with meticulous attention to detail
- Administer public records requests and FOIA compliance within statutory timeframes
- Prepare and certify legal documents including resolutions, proclamations, and contracts
- Manage municipal elections and voter registration processes with precision
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure consistent record-keeping protocols
- Facilitate public meetings by preparing agendas and maintaining procedural accuracy
- Oversee business licensing and permit documentation systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years municipal government or records management experience
- Proficiency with records management software and document imaging systems
- Thorough knowledge of North Carolina public records and open meetings laws
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Experience with election administration procedures preferred
