Responsibilities
- Prepare, publish, and distribute official meeting agendas, minutes, and resolutions for the City Council and other boards.
- Manage and maintain official City records, ensuring compliance with public records laws and retention schedules.
- Provide exceptional customer service to citizens, vendors, and visitors regarding city procedures and documents.
- Coordinate the logistics of civic meetings, including scheduling, room setup, and technical support.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, ordinances, and contracts as directed by the City Manager.
- Oversee the operation of the City Clerk's Office, including supervision of support staff when applicable.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a municipal government or corporate administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of public records laws and open meeting requirements (e.g., Brown Act) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
