The City of Memphis is seeking a highly organized and dedicated City Clerk to join our municipal team. As the custodian of city records and the primary point of contact for public information, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of city government.

Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, including ordinances, resolutions, and minutes with the highest level of accuracy.
- Prepare, distribute, and post agendas and meeting materials for the City Council and various board meetings.
- Act as the primary liaison for the public, responding to inquiries regarding city policies, procedures, and available services.
- Oversee the preparation of legal documents, contracts, and correspondence to ensure compliance with all state and local regulations.
- Manage the filing system for all departmental reports and ensure the preservation of historical city archives.
- Assist in the administration of municipal elections and voter registration processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Paralegal studies is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an office administration, clerical, or government setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to proofread documents for errors and ensure compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
