  • Ensure strict compliance with the California Public Records Act (CPRA) and other relevant state and local laws regarding information retention and disclosure.
  • Assist in the administration of municipal elections, including ballot preparation, polling site coordination, and post-election reporting.
  • Oversee the document imaging and records management system, ensuring digital accessibility and proper archiving.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental communications and maintain detailed records of official actions taken by the City leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a municipal government office, legal administration, or a comparable records management role.
  • Strong working knowledge of California Government Codes and the Brown Act.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management software (e.g., SharePoint, eFile).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations for the public.
