Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, documents, and filing systems with meticulous attention to detail
- Provide administrative support to city departments including scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation
- Process and track permits, licenses, and other municipal applications according to established protocols
- Assist citizens and stakeholders with inquiries, directing them to appropriate resources and information
- Coordinate public meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up documentation
- Ensure compliance with municipal regulations, state laws, and record retention policies
- Utilize municipal software systems for data entry, reporting, and record management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in public administration preferred
- Minimum 2 years of administrative or clerical experience in a government setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional demeanor
- Knowledge of municipal government operations and record-keeping procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Tennessee driver's license required
