Responsibilities
- Record Management: Maintain and organize official city records, including correspondence, legal documents, and administrative files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for the public via phone, email, and in-person inquiries, providing courteous and efficient assistance.
- Data Entry: Perform high-volume data entry tasks using city databases and software, ensuring all information is updated and error-free.
- Administrative Support: Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and reports for city council and departmental meetings.
- Correspondence: Draft, proofread, and mail official correspondence, including permits, licenses, and notices.
- Inventory Control: Manage office supplies and inventory, processing orders and maintaining accurate stock levels.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative, clerical, or government office setting.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management systems.
- Requirements: Must be a resident of the State of New Jersey; ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
