Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate filing systems, including both physical and digital records of city documents and permits.
- Interact with the public, businesses, and city staff via phone, email, and in-person to answer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
- Process and verify applications, forms, and transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and official correspondence for various city departments.
- Assist in the coordination of city events and public outreach initiatives.
- Maintain office equipment and supplies, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
- Perform general clerical duties, including data entry into internal databases and creating reports as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or relevant administrative experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in clerical, administrative, or customer service roles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new database systems quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced government environment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to various city locations if required.
