Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, documents, and digital databases with meticulous attention to detail
- Process public records requests while adhering to Indiana public access laws and confidentiality protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service to citizens, assisting with inquiries, permits, and administrative procedures
- Coordinate with multiple city departments to ensure accurate information flow and documentation
- Prepare and distribute official correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes for city council sessions
- Implement and maintain efficient filing systems for both physical and digital records
- Assist in election administration processes and voter registration activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 2 years clerical or administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and record-keeping software
- Strong knowledge of Indiana public records laws and government procedures
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customer service focus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Associate's degree in Public Administration or related field preferred
