Responsibilities
- Receive, file, and index legal documents, including complaints, motions, and judgments, ensuring strict adherence to court procedures.
- Assist the public and attorneys by answering inquiries regarding court schedules, filing fees, and docket information.
- Operate complex case management software to update case statuses and maintain accurate digital and physical records.
- Prepare and issue subpoenas, summonses, and court orders with precision and speed.
- Organize courtroom files for judges and ensure all exhibits and evidence are properly logged and secured.
- Collaborate with court staff, bailiffs, and attorneys to facilitate a smooth courtroom environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or Criminal Justice is preferred.
- Proven experience in administrative support, data entry, or office management is highly desirable.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with court case management systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
