Responsibilities
- Record Management: Accurately receive, index, file, and maintain a wide variety of legal documents, including deeds, judgments, and civil filings.
- Public Assistance: Greet and assist visitors, answering inquiries regarding court schedules, case statuses, and fee structures with courtesy and professionalism.
- Financial Processing: Process payments for court fees, fines, and services using Point of Sale (POS) systems and verify receipt documentation.
- Data Entry: Input and update case information into the County’s case management system (CMS) to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
- Confidentiality: Strictly adhere to confidentiality protocols to protect sensitive legal and personal information.
- System Operation: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of office equipment, scanners, and computer hardware.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or Business Administration is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in an office setting, legal environment, or government office is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new database software quickly.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Character: Must demonstrate high moral character and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Requirements: Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
