Responsibilities
- Supervise inmate activities, including work assignments, recreation, and meals, ensuring safety and order.
- Enforce institutional rules, regulations, and policies consistently and fairly.
- Conduct security checks and patrols of housing units and common areas to prevent contraband and disturbances.
- Document incidents, observations, and inmate behavior accurately in logs and reports.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, altercations, and medical crises within the facility.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of inmate rehabilitation and programming activities.
- Maintain professional communication with staff, inmates, and visitors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Valid Kansas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history as per state regulations.
- Ability to pass a medical examination and physical agility test.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment.
