Responsibilities
- Maintain security and order within correctional facilities during night hours
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations
- Conduct regular rounds and headcounts to ensure compliance
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Prepare detailed incident reports and documentation
- Screen visitors and packages for contraband
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Minimum 21 years of age at time of appointment
- U.S. citizenship and California residency
- Pass background check, polygraph, and medical/psychological evaluations
- Ability to work rotating night shifts with weekends/holidays
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
