In this pivotal position, you will serve as the vital link between the public and first responders, ensuring rapid response times and public safety. Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units to incident locations with speed and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of all calls, incidents, and unit movements.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and provide real-time situation updates to officers.
- Enter and update information into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and records management systems.
- Provide critical information and instructions to first responders to ensure operational safety.
- Collaborate with other agencies and support team members during high-volume periods.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Arizona Class D Driver’s License required.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 35 WPM recommended).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency with computers and basic software applications.
