Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to maintain security and order
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts within correctional premises
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with appropriate protocols
- Prepare detailed incident and shift reports using digital systems
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband entry
- Collaborate with law enforcement and medical teams during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate documentation of facility operations and inmate behavior
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- T Peace Officer License (TCLEOSE) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and physical fitness test
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing systems
- Ability to work flexible weekends and holidays reliably
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
