Responsibilities
- Maintain secure perimeter surveillance and conduct regular inmate counts
- Enforce facility rules and respond to incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Process inmate admissions and releases with accurate documentation
- Conduct searches for contraband and enforce safety protocols
- Monitor inmate behavior and report disciplinary actions
- Coordinate with medical and mental health staff for inmate welfare
- Participate in emergency response drills and crisis management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Valid Kansas driver's license and clean driving record
- Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical fitness test
- Previous security or military experience highly valued
- Ability to work weekends and holidays with rotating schedules
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Must be U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old
