Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols to ensure safety and security
- Conduct regular rounds and surveillance of assigned areas using CCTV and physical patrols
- Process inmate transfers, arrivals, and discharges following state procedures
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques as trained
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare and rehabilitation staff during inmate interactions
- Conduct searches of persons, cells, and common areas to contraband
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and clean criminal background check
- Completion of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Physical fitness to pass agility tests and restrain inmates if needed
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
