Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies during emergency activations
- Manage county emergency operations center during critical incidents
- Train public safety personnel and community volunteers on response protocols
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for county infrastructure
- Oversee public communication during emergencies via multiple channels
- Manage grant applications and compliance for emergency management programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of emergency management or public safety experience
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Strong knowledge of NIMS/ICS protocols and Texas emergency statutes
- Experience with emergency planning software and GIS mapping tools
- Proven ability to coordinate multi-agency responses during crises
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
