Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations during natural disasters and public health crises
- Develop and maintain county-wide emergency preparedness plans and protocols
- Lead interagency collaboration with FEMA, state agencies, and community partners
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train public officials and community leaders on emergency response procedures
- Manage grant-funded resilience projects and resource allocation
- Prepare public communications during disaster events
- Oversee after-action reviews and continuous improvement processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in disaster response or emergency planning
- FEMAPRO certification or equivalent emergency management credential
- Proven experience with incident command systems (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and threat modeling
- Exceptional communication abilities for stakeholder engagement
- Ability to work under extreme pressure with minimal supervision
- Valid Washington State driver's license
