Responsibilities
- Retrieve, organize, and file county documents, deeds, and legal records in compliance with state regulations.
- Assist the public and internal staff with information requests and document photocopying.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical databases of public records using county-specific software.
- Verify the authenticity of documents and ensure proper chain of custody for sensitive files.
- Process incoming mail, faxes, and inter-departmental correspondence promptly.
- Perform routine clerical duties, including data entry and report generation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or Records Management is a plus.
- Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative or records management role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and county-specific record management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move boxes of records weighing up to 25 pounds.
