Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy. You will be responsible for managing court records, assisting the public with inquiries, and maintaining the integrity of our filing systems.
Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and file legal documents, complaints, and motions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys, litigants, and the general public via phone and in-person.
- Operate computer systems and office machinery, including scanners and printers, to digitize records.
- Maintain and update court dockets and case management databases.
- Assist judges and court personnel with administrative tasks and scheduling.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive legal information.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and legal correspondence.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required; post-secondary education in legal studies or office administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a clerical, administrative, or legal environment is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry with high accuracy.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM) and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
