Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate court records, including filing, indexing, and archiving legal documents.
- Interact professionally with the public, attorneys, and court officials to answer inquiries and provide information.
- Process legal paperwork, including subpoenas, motions, and judgments, ensuring strict adherence to procedural rules.
- Assist judges and attorneys in preparing docket sheets and maintaining case files.
- Operate computer systems and database software to update case statuses and track document requests.
- Maintain a clean and organized courthouse environment to ensure safety and accessibility.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or Criminal Justice is a plus.
- Previous experience in an office environment or familiarity with legal terminology is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and court management software.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and integrity.
