Responsibilities
- Record Management: Accurately receive, index, and file legal documents, deeds, and civil cases within the courthouse database and physical archives.
- Public Assistance: Greet visitors with a professional demeanor, answer inquiries regarding court schedules and filing status, and provide general information.
- Data Entry: Perform high-speed, high-volume data entry to update case files and maintain the integrity of the courthouse's digital archives.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with judges, attorneys, and the general public regarding court procedures and document requests.
- Inventory Control: Manage and inventory office supplies and legal filing equipment to ensure daily operations run without interruption.
- Record Retrieval: Assist staff in locating and retrieving historical records and issuing certified copies for requesters.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, or related field is a strong plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in an administrative or legal office setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and ability to learn specialized case management software quickly.
