Responsibilities
- Greet and Assist: Welcome customers warmly and provide exceptional service for license renewals, vehicle registrations, and identification card requests.
- Process Applications: Accurately complete driver's license applications, road test appointments, and name/address changes using state software.
- Document Verification: Review driver records, original birth certificates, and medical certificates to ensure all legal requirements are met.
- Transaction Handling: Process payments for fees, taxes, and fines using various payment methods with a high degree of accuracy.
- Record Management: Maintain and update customer information in the DMV database to ensure records are current and compliant.
- Problem Resolution: Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints efficiently to maintain high service satisfaction scores.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or prior government experience is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service or call center experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency, typing speed of 40+ WPM, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to follow complex procedural guidelines strictly.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet high demand.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
