Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify potential security breaches and cyber threats
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate remediation activities during security incidents
- Prepare detailed security reports and briefings for senior leadership
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies on cybercrime investigations
- Stay current with evolving cyber threats and defensive technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of professional cybersecurity experience
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight)
- Knowledge of NIST cybersecurity frameworks and federal IT security policies
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (required)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
