Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for security threats using SIEM tools
- Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation efforts
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other federal cybersecurity standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture
- Document security incidents and provide executive-level reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in network security or cybersecurity operations
- Security+ or CISSP certification required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency with security tools: Splunk, Wireshark, Metasploit
- Familiarity with federal IT security frameworks (FISMA, NIST SP 800-53)
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
