Responsibilities
- Monitor federal networks for security breaches and vulnerabilities using SIEM tools
- Conduct forensic investigations of cyber incidents and compile detailed reports
- Develop and implement security protocols to protect sensitive government data
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch system vulnerabilities and strengthen defenses
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
- Participate in cross-agency cybersecurity initiatives and threat-sharing programs
- Provide cybersecurity training to federal employees on best practices
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Experience with NIST cybersecurity frameworks and FISMA compliance
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and network security tools
- Strong analytical skills and ability to document complex technical information
