Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and systems for security breaches, intrusions, or malicious activity.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security protocols.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents in accordance with established incident response plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, industry standards, and internal security policies.
- Generate and maintain detailed security reports for stakeholders and auditors.
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch vulnerabilities and improve overall system security.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- Certification preferred: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC.
- Proven experience working in a government contracting or federal IT environment.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and network security concepts.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security appliances.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (Secret or Top Secret).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
