Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts across federal networks to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Implement and maintain advanced security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on classified and unclassified systems
- Develop incident response plans and lead cybersecurity breach mitigation efforts
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA security standards
- Train federal personnel on cybersecurity best practices and threat awareness
- Generate detailed security reports and recommendations for system enhancements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information assurance
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Knowledge of federal security frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, FISMA)
- Secret security clearance (ability to obtain Top Secret required)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure) and incident response protocols
