Responsibilities
- Lead vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal IT systems
- Develop and implement advanced security protocols for cloud and network infrastructure
- Monitor and respond to security incidents using SIEM tools and threat intelligence platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Create incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises
- Provide expert guidance on security best practices to agency stakeholders
- Analyze emerging cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with federal systems
- Proficiency in security tools: Splunk, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike
- Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls and CIS benchmarks
- CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification (preferred)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust architecture
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for technical documentation
