Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced network security protocols to protect federal data systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for threat detection
- Develop incident response plans and lead cybersecurity breach mitigation efforts
- Coordinate with federal partners on cybersecurity initiatives and threat intelligence sharing
- Ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-53 and FISMA security standards
- Train federal personnel on cybersecurity best practices and protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in federal IT security compliance frameworks
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Understanding of zero-trust architecture and cloud security principles
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Strong analytical skills for threat assessment and incident investigation
