Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats across federal networks using advanced SIEM tools
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and develop mitigation strategies
- Implement and maintain NIST-compliant security controls and frameworks
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams to share threat intelligence and best practices
- Develop incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises
- Provide cybersecurity training to federal employees and contractors
- Stay current on emerging threats and vulnerabilities through continuous research
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in federal or regulated environments
- Expertise in network security protocols, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessment
- Industry certifications: CISSP, CEH, or Security+ required; GIAC preferred
- Strong analytical skills with experience in incident response and threat hunting
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision during critical incidents
