Responsibilities
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on classified DoD networks
- Develop and implement advanced security protocols for maritime defense systems
- Monitor and respond to 24/7 cybersecurity incidents using SIEM platforms
- Collaborate with federal agencies on threat intelligence sharing and mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)
- Lead incident response teams during high-priority security breaches
- Train personnel on cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats
Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain Top Secret)
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- 5+ years experience in federal IT security environments
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) required
- Expertise in network security tools (Splunk, Palo Alto, CrowdStrike)
- Experience with DoD-specific systems (NMCI, DODIN, JIE)
- Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for inter-agency reporting
