Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for natural disasters and public health emergencies
- Coordinate with FEMA, DHS, and local agencies during disaster response operations
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train public officials and community volunteers in emergency protocols
- Manage grant applications and compliance for federal disaster mitigation programs
- Lead public awareness campaigns about preparedness measures
- Compile and submit after-action reports to improve future response strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in emergency planning or disaster response
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent preferred
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-agency response efforts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
