Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency preparedness plans for hurricanes, floods, and other disasters
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies during crisis response activations
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train public officials and community leaders in emergency protocols
- Manage emergency operations center communications during incidents
- Prepare grant proposals and compliance reports for FEMA and DHS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of emergency management or public safety experience
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Incident Command System (ICS) 300/400 certification
- Strong knowledge of Louisiana emergency management statutes
- Excellent written/verbal communication and crisis decision-making skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts during emergency activations
