Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency response operations during natural disasters and public health crises
- Develop comprehensive disaster mitigation plans for hurricane/severe weather scenarios
- Train and equip first responders in incident command systems (ICS)
- Analyze risk vulnerability data to optimize resource allocation
- Manage federal grant compliance for FEMA and DHS programs
- Lead public awareness campaigns for disaster preparedness
- Conduct post-incident evaluations and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years experience in disaster response coordination
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Incident Command System (ICS-400) certification
- Advanced GIS mapping and risk analysis skills
- Proven grant writing and federal compliance experience
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to work 24/7 during emergency activations
