Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and test emergency operations plans for hurricanes, floods, and other disasters
- Coordinate multi-agency response efforts with FEMA, state agencies, and local partners
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train emergency response personnel and community stakeholders
- Manage disaster recovery programs and federal grant applications
- Public outreach and education on emergency preparedness
- Utilize GIS technology for hazard mapping and resource allocation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of emergency management or public safety experience
- FEMACertified Emergency Manager (CEM) preferred
- Proficiency in emergency management software (WebEOC, EMTrack)
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of NIMS/ICS protocols
