Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency preparedness strategies for natural disasters and public health emergencies
- Coordinate inter-agency response protocols with FEMA, local fire departments, and hospital networks
- Conduct risk assessments for critical infrastructure including medical facilities and transportation hubs
- Train 200+ personnel annually in incident command system (ICS) protocols
- Manage $1.2M annual grant budget for emergency equipment acquisition
- Lead public awareness campaigns reaching 500k+ residents annually
- Prepare post-incident reports and recovery optimization plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years experience in disaster response coordination
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency notification systems
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Spanish bilingual certification preferred
- Experience managing federal grant compliance (FEMA/HHS)
- NIMS/ICS 300 certification within 90 days of hire
