Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response operations during state-declared emergencies
- Develop and implement community preparedness programs for wildfire and flood mitigation
- Manage federal grant applications and compliance for FEMA-funded projects
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for critical infrastructure
- Train local government officials and emergency response teams
- Prepare after-action reports and improve response protocols
- Leverage GIS technology for real-time disaster mapping
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years experience in disaster response or public safety coordination
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS and emergency management software
- Ability to work 24/7 during emergency activations
- Spanish bilingual proficiency strongly preferred
- NIMS/ICS 300 certification within 6 months of hire
