Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations during natural disasters and public safety incidents
- Deploy field teams to affected areas with real-time situational awareness
- Maintain communication protocols with federal, state, and local agencies
- Document incident reports and resource allocation for post-event analysis
- Conduct community outreach for emergency preparedness education
- Operate emergency management software systems (e.g., WebEOC)
- Participate in 24/7 rotational on-call duties during declared emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in emergency management or public safety
- FEMA certifications (IS-100, IS-200, IS-700) required
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends during activations
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency response software
- Strong communication skills with crisis management experience
- Pass background check and drug screening per city requirements
