Responsibilities
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency response operations during declared disasters
- Develop and implement crisis communication protocols for public and stakeholder engagement
- Manage resource allocation including personnel, equipment, and federal aid distribution
- Conduct post-incident assessments and prepare comprehensive recovery reports
- Maintain compliance with FEMA regulations and National Incident Management System (NIMS) standards
- Train local emergency management teams on federal response procedures
- Monitor weather patterns and disaster threats 24/7 during activation periods
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in disaster response or emergency services
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Incident Command System (ICS) 300/400 certification
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel domestically with 4-hour notice
- Top Secret security clearance or ability to obtain immediately
- Experience with GIS mapping and emergency management software
- Spanish fluency preferred for bilingual crisis response capabilities
