Responsibilities
- Receive, organize, and index incoming government documents, permits, and legal files.
- Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy, ensuring digital records are up-to-date.
- Assist the public with inquiries regarding records requests and provide courteous customer service.
- Sort, classify, and shelve files according to established filing systems and retention schedules.
- Prepare routine correspondence, reports, and memos using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the records department workspace.
- Support senior staff with special projects and administrative overflow tasks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in an office setting or clerical role is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.
- Basic computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move boxes of records weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
