Responsibilities
- Analyze federal pension plans and provide accurate, detailed information to employees regarding eligibility, vesting, and benefit calculations.
- Process pension contributions and ensure all retirement records are maintained with the highest level of accuracy and security.
- Conduct research on ERISA regulations and federal retirement guidelines to advise staff on complex compliance matters.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training materials for new federal employees regarding retirement savings plans.
- Review and update personnel files and retirement system data to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate complex pension concepts and financial terms to employees in a clear, concise, and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate with HR teams to streamline the benefits onboarding process for new hires.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are mandatory.
- Basic understanding of retirement systems, ERISA, or federal benefits is highly preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
