Responsibilities
- Process and route incoming mail and correspondence to ensure timely delivery to appropriate departments or staff members.
- Perform data entry into federal databases and filing systems with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist veterans and visitors with basic inquiries regarding services, forms, and office procedures.
- Maintain organized records of office documents, ensuring compliance with federal retention schedules.
- Prepare correspondence and reports using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Support administrative staff with scheduling, photocopying, and general office upkeep.
- Adhere to federal regulations and VA policies regarding privacy and security at all times.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required for federal employment.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; a college degree is preferred but not required for entry-level consideration.
- Basic computer literacy with proficiency in typing and navigating Windows-based software.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation and drug screening.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
