Responsibilities
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date government records, files, and databases to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Public Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting citizens with inquiries, processing applications, and directing them to appropriate departments.
- Data Entry: Perform high-volume data entry tasks using government databases and Microsoft Office Suite, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Document Preparation: Prepare, format, and distribute official correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes.
- Inventory Control: Monitor office supply inventory and process requisition orders to ensure departmental needs are met.
- Operational Support: Assist senior staff with special projects and administrative tasks to support the smooth daily operation of the department.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree or coursework in Public Administration, Business, or related field is a plus.
- Experience: No prior government experience required; basic clerical or office experience is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer navigation.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public and staff.
- Organization: Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize work, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
- Integrity: Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality and adhere to government ethics policies.
