Responsibilities
- Greet and Assist Visitors: Welcome guests and visitors to the office, providing excellent customer service and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Administrative Support: Perform routine clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and answering multi-line telephone systems accurately and efficiently.
- Document Management: Organize, maintain, and file physical and digital records in accordance with city regulations and retention schedules.
- Mail and Communications: Sort, distribute, and prepare incoming and outgoing mail, as well as process interoffice correspondence.
- Office Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment by restocking supplies and ensuring common areas are presentable.
- Customer Inquiries: Respond to basic inquiries via phone or in person, escalating complex issues to senior staff when necessary.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required; additional college coursework in Public Administration or Business is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior work experience required; we value potential and attitude over tenure.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time hours, Monday through Friday.
- Background: Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screen as required for city employment.
